Aline Johnson
Nature-Inspired Cyanotype Cushions & Scarves
Local artist Aline Johnson hand prints beautiful fabrics for cushions and silk scarves, using a 19th Century process called Cyanotype.
This is a photo sensitive process which uses natural plant material (fern or ginkgo leaves for example) as ‘stencils’, iron salts and sunshine to create stunning prints.
Whether fashioned as an accessory for yourself or your home, these fabrics have a wonderful handmade quality, and a softness of colour which perfectly captures the natural materials and processes used.
