Maria Burns

Maria is a Purbeck-based artist and illustrator, who spent her childhood exploring the stunning natural habitats and wildlife around her and painting what she could see. She went on to train as a Natural History illustrator at Bournemouth & Poole College of Art & Design.

For 30 years she has been creating everything from logos to leaflets, and illustrated books and  magazines, as well as information stands at numerous tourist attractions and wildlife parks. 

Her delicately detailed yet vibrant images work brilliantly on poster-style prints and cards, and there’s also a fun, illustrated map of Purbeck. Prints of Studland, Swanage, Wareham, Corfe Castle and the like can be ordered in larger sizes - please contact us for details.
